My Hollister recommendations
Recently, Hollister has become the latest “raging” clothing brand. From their Y2K-inspired clothing to their new graduation line, Hollister has become one of the faces of Gen Z fashion.
Their graduation line features a white sleep set and printed sleep set, hoodie, crewneck, and some white top and dress staples to walk the stage.
Their Y2K line reintroduces their babydoll tops alongside many low-rise fitted bottoms.
Growing up, I was a true high-rise skinny jeans girl. Wouldn’t even look at anything that wasn’t a pair of blue, ripped, high-rise skinny jeans. I only branched out once, with a pair of baggy ripped jeans. My family would ask me, “¿Se metió un tigre en tu armario?” (Did a tiger get in your closet?).
Starting at the beginning of my Senior year in high school, I got my first job. Abercrombie kids. I’m fairly short, so I could fit the bigger sizes of shirts, but jeans I could not. As an employee there, I got discounts at the sister store, Hollister. I had been a long time buyer of American Eagle jeans, and when I had previously tried on Hollister, it did not go too well. The sizing was different in the 2 stores, and when the first pair did not fit, I gave up way too easily. I decided to give them another go, because why not? I had the discount, so I might as well use it.
Hollister’s Collegiate Clothing Line Has You Set For Game Day
I did start off with my faithful high-rise jeans. Saw one of the Hollister managers, who occasionally took over as manager at the Abercrombie Kids store, wearing a cute pair of bell bottom jeans with white embroidered flowers. This was my first time wearing anything that wasn’t skinny jeans, other than the one pair of baggy jeans I owned, so this was totally new to me.
I loved the pair so much I ended up getting a pair of brown corduroy bell bottoms. These two jeans completely changed the game for me. Back then, they didn’t really have many high-rise options for flared or bootcut jeans, so I opted for the low-rise ones, and I actually loved them. All of this is to show how deep my love for low-rise bottoms goes. Additionally, I’d like to share my favorite tops from them.
Starting off with bottoms, I started off by getting their low-rise bootcut jeans in various colors. I then began branching out to their low-rise baggy and low-rise straight jeans, and most recently their low-rise loose pants. Since we’re about to kick off summer very soon, I highly recommend their denim shortie shorts. Super cute and comfortable! The material is strong, but flexible and hugs my curves just right. If you’re looking for some shorts on the longer side, their 5” shorts are a good alternative.
Some of my favorite tops are their basic baby-tees, but that’s not all they’re good at. Their tube tops are amazing. I personally don’t always want to have a super cropped shirt, so I absolutely love that shirts can be ordered in a long version, and a short version for those with shorter torsos. I’d say mine is a “normal” length, but sometimes I simply don’t want a super short shirt!
So I opted to buy it online in the longer length. What I love about their reversible tube tops is the built in versatility of the shirt. If I want something a little longer, I can wear it without folding it, and for something a little more cropped, all I’ve got to do is fold it down a bit! Some other favorites are the strapless babydoll top, long sleeve babydoll top, and the square neck top.
Lastly, the sale section has almost never failed me. It is slightly difficult to find my size sometimes, but I’m not against sizing up a bit for something I really like! I’m looking forward to their new releases and possibly getting out of my comfort zone just a bit more.
